Eating Danish For Breakfast

This makes me happy. And it's not the first time, or even the second. When did the Lego man become such a folk hero? The Lego video games are wildly popular (I even like them and I hate video games). Minifig t-shirts. Flickr groups. Halloween costumes. Homegrown stop-motion animators. And, uh, porn.

I'm convinced that my childhood obsession with Lego made me the creative man I am today. Countless hours spent parked with my back to the TV meticulously creating Spaceships/Dragsters/Hospitals/Fire Stations/Monsters/Helicopters and anything else my mind could conjure up. And you never followed the instruction manual. They were merely suggestions.

CURMUDGEON ALERT : I deeply resent the highly specialized Lego pieces that come with many of today's kits. In my day, if you wanted a dinosaur, you had to build it using nothing but rudimentary square parts and you were forced to use creative problem-solving to figure out how to build the damn thing. Now you can use the curved dinosaur snout, dinosaur-head "block" and one-piece tail to make a very nice looking dinosaur. Very much meh.
