For years I had been a BlackBerry user. Not by choice though. Work provided them. My first one was a monochrome 6230. I've had a Curve, an 8830 World edition and an 8800. I hated all of them. I even had a Motorola MotoQ. What a steaming hunk of shit that was. But this is about BlackBerry.

RIM have never really hit it out of the park for me. Usability is ok. Design, meh. The one thing they did have was reliability and security. That was always the arguement IT would cite for not allowing iPhones onto the agency servers. But once Apple introduced security enhancements in iOS4 (encryption stuff to protect business information if the device is compromised) there were few excuses left. This latest debacle is just the final nail in the coffin.
