Death by a thousand cuts

Posted on October 29th, 2007

The best zombie movies are metaphors for the horrors of the human condition, be it blind consumerism (Romero's Dawn of the Dead) or existential crisis in the face of a Godless universe (Kotcheff's Weekend at Bernie's). They're really more my thing than Jamie's, but I was too lazy to give him the visual references he asked for. Which is a shame, because I would have looked great in a blue shirt with a chainsaw for a hand.

Also, I totally should have titled this strip 28 Days Later...

If you're looking for movie ideas for Wednesday, Robert Berry at retroCRUSH has updated his much quoted/plagiarized list of the 100 Scariest Movie Scenes Of All Time and the shower scene from Psycho is no longer #1. While An Inconvenient Truth and Supersize Me are still inexplicably absent, #78 definitely freaked me out. I used to hide under my covers, absolutely sure that creepy old woman was clinging to the ceiling above my bed.

Happy Halloween, everybody.

And really, wouldn't you rather sue Adbusters?
