If you think that’s bad, Jamie and I once worked on an international children’s charity – you’ve absolutely heard of it – that had the same problem. They’d inconceivably neglected to lock down the dot com version of their URL and some squatter had filled the page with porn links. Most of the details escape my memory, but I remember being fascinated by one screaming callout promising “MINTU GAYS!!!!”
Was “mintu” some kind of subculture slang? Was it just a misspelling of “minty”? What the hell are “minty gays”? And how many parents of critically ill children were wondering the same thing?
