So apparently this guy is really, really famous – albeit in circles that could never touch mine in any conceivable Venn diagram. I honestly had no clue and sincerely hope it goes without saying that I never intended to publicly declare my allegiance to the Deep South Wrestling champion.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of transparently fake brawling, as my DVD collection will attest. Five Deadly Venoms, House of Flying Daggers and The Matrix? All awesome. I'm also a big fan of live theatre and thought The Wrestler was a damn fine movie. Love the ingredients. Can't stomach the meal.

Pro wrestling is the unholy crossroads where roid rage meets live theatre and beats it with a metal folding chair while the ref is looking the other way. Fact: volcanic activity has been increasing dramatically since Hulkamania as Aeschylus' rapidly spinning corpse drills holes in Earth's crust.
