On the subject of viral advertising and jus primae noctis

Posted on January 23rd 2006

For those who haven't seen it, we're discussing the latest BK viral, wherein the King and Ms. Burke continue the relationship they began in the most Freudian ad for a family restaurant I've ever seen. While the stuff they do is admittedly great, my favourite Burger King viral was not, I think it's fair to say, created by Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

For the sake of my relationship, I should also explain that I don't really want to sleep with every woman in the kingdom. Just the attractive ones in the 18-34 demographic. (Ha ha! Just a joke! Sweetie? Pumpkin, come back!) And while there isn't really a Megan in finance, it is true that I'm screwing the entire department with my delinquent timesheets.

What would an advertising site be without the fine print? Here goes: Any reference to actual brands on this site is for satirical purposes only and is in no way endorsed by their parent companies
or the agencies that represent them. Neither is any harm intended towards the aforementioned brands, companies and agencies. Quite the contrary — we may well come begging for a job one day.
And really, wouldn't you rather sue Adbusters?
