When my daughter told me a friend’s 3-month old channel had “like, a million subscribers”, I did not take her as literally as I should have.
As of this writing, that video has 6 million views.
I was stunned at first but I get it now. Joana’s sincerity, joy and DIY aesthetic are a breath of fresh air after the polished artifice of established YouTubers.
