In Iman’s defence, it clearly wasn’t intentional. He was just talking so excitedly that a fleck of his spittle soared through the air and into my mouth. Only the extremity of my Canadian manners enabled me to conclude the encounter politely before gargling with scotch. I seriously considered rubbing alcohol but worried I might go blind.
In my defence, I grew up in a small town where somebody crying for help gets 100% of your attention. It’s conditioning that hasn’t always served me well in the big city.
I’ve missed this. Let’s do it again next week.
