I've never been a fan of the phrase "too much information." Partly because it's one of those catchphrases unimaginative people try to pass off as wit, but mostly because it's invariably used to punish someone who's committed the social faux pas of being genuine. I'd rather hear about your pustulant ingrown toenail than exchange banal pleasantries about the weather any day.
Preferably not over lunch, though.
