Can you begin to imagine what it's like to be a Canadian man with no interest in hockey or beer? I didn't even know it was the playoffs until I researched the first panel at ESPN.com. The second panel was co-written by Jamie after I sent him the following script:

Simon: I'm thinking of buying a [car model].

Jamie: Nice. [car talk]

Simon: [car talk]

Back to hockey. About three years ago, I received an e-mail inviting me to come down to the main boardroom, where The Hockey News (or some such) had just finished romancing the media department. Jamie, who had once dreamed of becoming a professional hockey player, was out that day. Which is why I was able to take a picture with the world's most revered sports trophy and he wasn't.

Pretty sure I've lost the photo. No biggie.
