Dedicated to James Andrews, with sympathy

Posted on January 19th, 2009

A week before I began my internship, an industry veteran told my class the cautionary tale of a team who disparaged a client on the elevator ride up to her office only to discover the person they were presenting to had shared the elevator with them.

M. Night
Shocking twist!

"You never know who's listening," the veteran assured us sagely, as though it was in any way surprising to cross paths with a Company-X employee in the Company-X building.

McDonald's
What the fuck are McDonald's employees doing
here?

Still, I took the point to heart. I've never criticized clients or discussed agency business anywhere remotely public. Unless you count the Internet.

This comic is dedicated, with sympathy, to James Andrews – a man who unwittingly became the new cautionary tale for industry veterans to share with juniors.

What would an advertising site be without the fine print? Here goes: Any reference to actual brands on this site is for satirical purposes only and is in no way endorsed by their parent companies
or the agencies that represent them. Neither is any harm intended towards the aforementioned brands, companies and agencies. Quite the contrary — we may well come begging for a job one day.
And really, wouldn't you rather sue Adbusters?
